Sam recently moved to the Bend area from Eugene, Oregon. She grew up in Lebanon, Oregon participating in multiple sports: basketball, track, and cheerleading. Sam started her formal education at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon and received her AAOT in Exercise and Movement Science. After LCC she attended Northwest Christian University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology and Human Performance. During that time She became certified under the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Certified Personal Trainer.
She has completed continuing education credits to specialize in Corrective Exercise Training and Strength and Performance Training. Sam worked in Eugene as a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor for the University of Oregon’s Student Rec Center. At the same time, Sam was asked to potentially run track for NCU after meeting the Head Track Coach, George Wilcox, at school. After talking with George she decided to devote her time to work as a Student Strength Coach for NCU and help improve the performance of her student athlete peers. She realized she is SUPER competitive for others rather than herself. (Must be the cheerleader in her!)Sam McGinnis
